Transposition is a 600mm x 400mm painting representing an initial artistic model for a current project revolving around the concept and phenomenon of light, and its artistic implementation to visualise the spiritual. It forms part of a series of work exploring the application of traditional media through the use of new methodologies and processes.
This work is inspired by the Shroud of Turin, and suggests an internal vision of transcendence, envisioned in terms of ‘transposing’ – replacing ‘the old’ with ‘the new’; an inner yearning to rise above the current troubles driven by the current situation of the Covid pandemic.
