Registration is now open for a one-day inter-disciplinary conference on Music and Transcendence to be held in Cambridge, UK on 29 November 2011. All papers and performances will consider the ways in which music relates to infinite and ‘ultimate’ meaning as well as the ways in which music enables the creation of meaning and fulfilment within an ‘immanent’ frame.
Keynote talks include:
- ‘Effing the ineffable’, Professor Roger Scruton
- ‘In the Beginning, There Was Improvisation: Responding to the Call’, Professor Bruce Ellis Benson
- ‘Music and the Beyond: A Millennium of Witness’, Professor Christopher Page
