Jane Pettegree has a research background in English Renaissance drama, a parallel past life as a professional singer specialising in early and contemporary music, and is an Associate Lecturer in music history and ethnomusicology at the University of St Andrews Music Centre. She was appointed choir director at St Andrews Episcopal Church in September 2020 in the middle of the COVID19 pandemic, having sung with this group for some years. This year’s music-making has been isolated and asynchronous; in the current lock-down circumstances, basic software editing has taken the place of real-time choral conducting.
