After a nearly twenty-year career as a musician working both inside and outside the Church, Benjamin Holsteen shifted focus and is now a mid-life, early-career academic, theologian, and artist currently completing a MLitt in Art and Theology through the Institute for Theology, Imagination, and the Arts at the University of St. Andrews. His research interest include the intersection of theology and popular culture, the melancholic in sacred and secular art (especially in popular music, film, Biblical literature and classic works of Christian mysticism), and the shape of contemporary belief in a post-secular age.
