2010 Archive

In the summer of 2010, a group of graduate students within the Institute for Theology, Imagination and the Arts (ITIA) at the University of St Andrews launched a blog called Transpositions.  Before the idea of launching regular symposia even crossed our minds, we decided to devote an entire week to review David Taylor’s edited volume For the Beauty of the Church.  This week long review ‘became’ our first symposium in much the same way that history is redeemed through its recapitulation in Christ!

  • Jim Watkins is the assistant editor and a regular contributor at Transpositions. Originally, Jim is from southern California and southeastern Texas, but sometimes he feels most at home in the landscape and coffee shops of the Pacific Northwest. He met his wife Emily at Wheaton College in Illinois, where he studied Studio Art (concentration in painting). For his PhD research, he is examining the relationship between divine and human creativity from the perspective of divine kenosis.
